About Kids' World

A letter from Our Executive Director

Parents often ask me why I do what I do. Working with the children, families and staff brings me a great deal of joy and satisfaction. I truly love my work. A personal relationship with Jesus Christ is the reason I do what I do. He came to serve and told us to do the same. I am here to serve you, your children and the Kids’ World staff. We are here to offer you and your child the best we can. We serve children and families from all walks of life and from all faiths. We serve who ever God brings to our door. We employ staff from many different faiths. We celebrate many different holidays both social and religious. We are sensitive to the broad range of cultural and religious practices and beliefs represented in our community. It is not my goal to preach to you or your children, only to reflect Christ in our service.

Sincerely,
Michael Watters
Executive Director

A Brief History of Kids’ World

In the Fall of 1990, Michael left his career in sales and marketing to follow a life long dream of being a preschool teacher. Michael began in the basement of their home with 5 children, including their daughter Kelly. Terri joined Michael about a year later after the birth of Cory, their third child. Soon the group grew to 12, 2 of which were their own. Cameron, their oldest son was entering high school by then and was very supportive but sometimes longed for the quieter life he had enjoyed only a few years before(”first a baby sister, a baby brother, now ten others? My parents have gone nuts”).
